12/11/2017 0 Comments Weekly Update...12/11/17Hello all,
I hope that you and your family enjoyed the expected (but, really unexpected) snow this past weekend. I enjoyed hearing your children talk about all the fun they had in the snow whether they were building snowmen or having snowball fights with neighbors or family :) This week we will spend lots of time creating the website to show all that we've learned about the sun, moon, and stars. I'm pretty excited to be doing this work with your children. They too are ecstatic to share their learning with you and the children whom we will be donating the website to. Each of them are such kind little people that strive to make the world a better place and I absolutely LOVE it! In reading students will learn how to identify and use adjectives and adverbs. In math we will show what we've learned about addition and subtraction within 100 with and without regrouping and begin learning how to tell time to the nearest 5 minutes. Friendly Reminders: ***Our Celebration of Learning will begin at 8:30a on Wednesday, December 20th in W.E.'s auditorium. Afterward we will move into our classrooms for students to share their expedition journals and the website with you. You will need to obtain a visitor's pass from the front office before reporting to the auditorium. Our Celebration of Learning will end promptly at 9:30a. ***The Winter Celebration willl begin at 12:45p and end at 1:45p on Thursday, December 21st. Please check your emails for information from our room parents regarding this celebration and items you can sign-up to donate for this celebration. I plan to show The Polar Express this day as well. Please let me know if you'd rather your child not participate in the viewing of this movie. ***Winter Marketplace (Repurposing with a Purpose). Please see the email sent last week for in depth information regarding this 2nd/3rd grade initiative. Please have your child bring in items to be donated this Friday, December 15th. Thank you! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me. Have a wonderful week! -SB
